Tanor is an AI-native business transformation company. We help companies automate the busywork, connect fragmented operations, uncover insights hidden in their data, and build new products and revenue streams with AI.

We do not stop at recommendations, prototypes, or slide decks. We work alongside our clients to understand how their business really operates and turn the right opportunities into secure, production-ready systems.

We are looking for a Senior AI Developer to help us do exactly that.

This is not a role for someone waiting for a perfectly defined ticket. You will work directly with Tanor's founders, senior operators, and clients to navigate ambiguity, challenge assumptions, make technical decisions, and ship working AI. You will also help build the reusable tools, patterns, and infrastructure behind Tanor Atoms: our managed AI-native delivery capability.

What you will do

• Turn complex business problems into clear technical plans and working AI systems.

• Build agentic workflows, AI-powered products, internal tools, automations, and integrations that operate in real production environments.

• Work across the full lifecycle: discovery, architecture, implementation, evaluation, deployment, observability, and continuous improvement.

• Connect models to the systems where work actually happens: APIs, databases, documents, enterprise tools, and proprietary client platforms.

• Design reliable AI systems with the right guardrails, human oversight, security, and failure handling.

• Use frontier models and AI coding agents as part of your daily workflow to multiply your own output.

• Make pragmatic decisions about when to use an LLM, deterministic software, automation, or a combination of all three.

• Collaborate directly with clients, ask the difficult questions, explain tradeoffs clearly, and take ownership of outcomes—not just code.

• Help improve Tanor's own delivery system by turning what we learn across projects into reusable components, standards, and tooling.

What success looks like

In your first months, you will be able to take a meaningful client problem from an ambiguous conversation to a deployed solution. You will earn trust through sound judgment, fast learning, clear communication, and consistent delivery.

Over time, your work will not only solve individual problems. It will make Tanor better at solving the next one: faster, more securely, and at a higher standard.

What we are looking for

• Strong experience building and shipping production software. Seniority matters more to us than a specific number of years.

• Hands-on experience with modern AI systems, including LLM APIs, tool use, agentic workflows, retrieval, structured outputs, evaluations, and production monitoring.

• Excellent software engineering fundamentals: system design, APIs, data modeling, testing, debugging, performance, and maintainability.

• Strong skills in Python and/or TypeScript, plus experience working with cloud infrastructure, databases, and third-party integrations.

• The ability to move comfortably between product thinking, architecture, and implementation.

• Good judgment about reliability, security, privacy, cost, latency, and where human oversight is required.

• High agency. You create momentum, find a way forward, and make things happen without waiting to be managed.

• Customer centricity. You want to understand how the client really works and measure success by business impact.

• Team play. You know ambitious outcomes are won together: by sharing context, asking for help, helping others, and delegating well.

• Strong written and spoken English. Tanor is building globally, and English is part of how we operate.

You do not need to match every technology in a checklist. We care much more about what you have built, the decisions you made, what broke, what you learned, and whether real people used it.
